Advocating for predictable global agricultural trade rules
Canada is a net food exporter and the fifth largest agricultural exporter globally. We produce some of the highest quality and most sought-after products in the world but we need predictable, transparent and science-based trade rules with our major trading partners in order to get our products to market. CropLife Canada, working with the CropLife International network, plays a leadership role in advocating against non-tariff trade barriers related to both pesticides and plant breeding innovations so that Canadian farmers can continue to have access to the latest tools and technologies on their farms to remain competitive, get their products to market and help drive Canada’s economy forward.
